West End and TV star to perform as legendary rock and roll icon at summer concert

West End and TV star Zoe Birkett to star Tina Turner in upcoming Sounds in the park concert.

This time live music will fill the grounds of Ripley Castle near Harrogate on From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 August.

Zoe Birkett will play Tina Turner in One night of Tina on Saturday August 21 on a rock and roll roller coaster ride through four decades of Tina’s greatest hits.

Zoe rose to fame on the ITV original Pop idol alongside future winner Will Young and runner-up Gareth Gates.

She has since performed in numerous West End shows such as The bodyguard, Live Thriller and Rock of ages, as well as an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. The Live Music Weekend kicks off with The Definitive Rat Pack Friday August 20, where the public will be able to relive the golden age of swing.

Then, to conclude, Patrick Myers as Freddie Mercury in The killer queen on Sunday August 22, which will recreate the iconic songs and showmanship of one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Plus, back by popular demand, York’s own The New York Brass Band will kick off the party each night as the first part.

The public will be able to sit and enjoy the three evenings of live music from their own designated picnic area, for two, four or six people – don’t forget to bring something to sit on!

Tickets are equivalent to £ 29.50 per person plus the booking fee for a standard picnic.

The gates of Ripley Castle will open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Visitors will have time to picnic before the New York Brass Band begins at 6:30 p.m. (5:00 p.m. Sunday), with the main act at 8:00 p.m. (6:30 p.m. Sunday).

There will also be food and drink available for purchase on site, with pizzas from The Dough Disciples and a range of Yorkshire drinks from the Yorkshire Bus Bar.
