The 2020 Honda Jazz is one of the oldest nameplates still on sale in India. It is only offered in three variants – V, VX and ZX and all three versions will also come with an automatic CVT option. The Honda Jazz received a slight update last year and now the older model is available in the used car market. The good thing is that the previous model is also not much different from the current one. If you are thinking of buying a used Honda Jazz, here are some pros and cons that you should consider.

Advantages

  1. The Honda Jazz is well equipped inside and the feature list includes push button engine start / stop, smart key with keyless remote, automatic climate control, 7 inch Digipad infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.

The Honda Jazz shares its interiors with the WR-V.

  2. Standard safety features include dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, impact-mitigating front headrests, injury mitigation pedestrians and an anti-theft immobilizer system. The high-end variants of the Jazz also benefit from a multi-view rear camera with Guidelines.
  3. Under the hood, the Honda Jazz gets the 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine, now BS6 compliant. The engine is tuned to develop 89 hp and 110 Nm of maximum torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the seven-stage CVT automatic gearbox is also offered on all variants. The 1.5-liter diesel engine is still available in the used car market, but has been discontinued in newer models.

The inconvenients

  1. The Honda Jazz looks a bit dated as we’ve been so used to seeing this design for ages.
  2. The low-speed ride quality of the Honda Jazz is a bit too stiff on rough roads or rough surfaces.

The big boy look of the Honda Jazz makes it easy to get in and out.

  3. The quality of materials, fit and finish of the interiors could have been improved, as we are used to seeing a better cabin from Honda.
