Rock Entertainment and Kiswe team up to localize esports events in APAC

Global interactive video company Kiswe and content distributor Rock Entertainment Holdings announced a collaboration to locate esports tournaments to broadcast in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Thanks to the partnership, the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021 Stage 3 Final – Challengers Hong Kong / Taiwan will be broadcast live on Rock Entertainment’s Extreme blue ant linear television channel. The July show will be localized specifically for the APAC audience. Depending on one version, additional esports broadcasts will follow.

Kiswe provides tools that allow event planners to create and scale personalized content in any language. One of those tools is the ability to allow producers and esports casters to work remotely without the need for on-site production.

CEO of Kiswe, Mike Schabel commented the partnership: “The globalization of esports also requires its localization and a simple translation is not enough. Kiswe Studio can adapt esports games from anywhere so that even the most subtle cultural nuances are captured for any region, delivering the most enjoyable gaming experiences.

The two companies had already collaborated earlier this year to broadcast stages one and two of VCT 2021: Challengers Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Beatrice Lee, Asia-Pacific CEO of Rock Entertainment Holdingsadded, “We are delighted to be working with Kiswe to bring VALORANT and other live, localized esports programming to our viewers across Asia. This partnership aims to deliver the content our esports fans love in a personalized and inclusive way. “

Esports Insider Says: APAC is the largest gaming region in the world, so it makes sense to have more localized content available for streaming. Captions just aren’t as good at reaching audiences as locating.
