Rampant Rabbits Dough Broncos | 02:03

Brisbane Broncos vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs

chestnuts: Rabbit Center Danish Gagai reviewed his illness which he suffered before Origin I and was back to his best after a week off in Round 14. The Maroons forward Jai Arrow was also back to his explosive best against the Broncos with 160 yards after a calm Origin I, but might have to settle for a bench spot for Game II with Josh Papalii’i returning to No. 1, which could see Tino Fa’asuamaleaui change lock.

Blues: Broncos accessory Payne haas went through the game unscathed and will definitely be there for NSW in Game II. Blues Center Latrell mitchell was a bit calm against the Broncos given his starring role in Origin I, but he’s a certainty for Game II. Campbell Graham was the Blues’ 19th player in Game I and was strong against the Broncos, scoring two tries and making six tackle saves. He will likely be on the squad again after impressing the Blues coaches. The Blues are unlikely to change their pair of halves, but if injuries strike Cody walker is ready for a recall from NSW after recording five assists and three assists against the Broncos. Bruises hooker Damien cook went through the game unscathed and will be a certain starter for Game II. Keaon Kolomatangi was brought into the Blues setup in Game 1 and will be there or there for Suncorp, especially if injuries arise. Second rower of the Blues Cameron Murray ran 130 yards against the Broncos and is a lock to feature in Game II.

North Queensland Cowboys vs. Cronulla Sharks

chestnuts: Kyle feldt had an impressive night in Townsville, scoring two tries for the Cowboys. The winger enjoyed a ding dong battle with Ronaldo mulitalo which was impressive for the Sharks against Feldt. Mal Meninga gave his support to Mulitalo to win a first summons of Origin.

“I think he’s (lucky). Even last year he was called up to be a winger, ”legendary Maroons coach Mal Meninga said.

“He’s a character and he plays with a lot of passion. Maybe you need this kind of player, if you had to bring Will chambers – an antagonist – he (Ronaldo) doesn’t care about that kind of role.

Speaking of roomswas also impressive for the Sharks with the ball in hand (102m, two unloads and 16 tackles), although he had a few bad readings in defense late in the game.

“I think he did some good things and had some bad defensive play that he probably would like to pick up,” said Sharks coach Josh Hannay. “It’s his own harshest critic, but for great parts he’s done a lot of good things for us. Given the lack of available centers, he’s probably in the conversation.

Valentine holmes ran 253m and almost scored a late field goal and will be picked for the Maroons, the big question is whether he’ll be in the back or the wing.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow failed to complete the match after leaving for an HIA in the first half.
