The number one pick in the 2022 NBA draft, Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, was in New York. He competes in Chris Brickley Black Op races. The former Duke forward can be seen giving that job to Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell isn’t exactly an All-Defense player, but his lack of defensive skill was completely exposed by Banchero on this particular occasion.
Banchero gave buckets to Donovan Mitchell on the offensive end in the video above.
It wasn’t like Mitchell was trying to relax on the Banchero on the defensive end of the field.
You can see how serious the jazz star was trying to stop the 19-year-old from scoring on him on several occasions. In all of these cases, or at least those seen in the edited video, Banchero proved unstoppable. Rookie Magic pulled out their full arsenal, and it looked like Mitchell was the rookie here against a seasoned veteran.
In the two clips that followed, Mitchell can be seen putting on an offensive clinic against Banchero and the rest of the guys on his team.
Speaking of Mitchell, Daniel Artest recently shared that Mitchell won’t be moving the needle for the New York Knicks.
“I don’t think they should go after Donovan Mitchell, to be honest. I think the Knicks should make a deal with their team. They’re finally becoming a viable franchise. Making great moves, great choices draft and develop their young talent. I don’t think they need to blow it for a 6-foot-1 guard who shoots a lot,” Artest said.
The Knicks are looking to match Mitchell with Jalen Brunson in their backcourt and be part of the franchise’s future.
