John Mayer is scheduled to release his new album, “Sob Rock”, on July 16th.
The 43-year-old singer will release his first album in four years next month, as he has confirmed that “Sob Rock” is due out on tablets and streaming services on July 16.
The record is his first since “The Search For Everything” in 2017, and comes after the release of three singles in the years that followed – “New Light” in 2018, and the 2019 tracks “I Guess I Just Feel Like” and ‘Carry Me Away’.
John made the announcement on Twitter when he posted the illustration for his upcoming album with a caption that read, “Sob Rock. July 16th.
The hitmaker ‘Gravity’ confirmed that his new album was arriving last month, when he said he would be ready for a release “very soon”.
He teased, “I assure you everything will start very soon. I’ll put it like this: Every day that you have to do without my new music is another day that I can work harder to make sure it gets heard by as many people as it could appreciate. Hope you think it’s worth the wait.
And in March, John confirmed that work on his next album was done, with a single in the works for release.
He said: “My album is recorded, mixed and mastered. I just relaxed and shared it with friends over the past couple of months.
Meanwhile, John is also reportedly in the process of making a deal to host his own talk show, which is set to be titled “Later with John Mayer” and debut on the streaming service Paramount +.
The talk show is sold as “a series featuring performance segments as well as interviews with musicians, artists and other cultural figures in a setting designed to resemble an after-hours club for musicians.”
