Deep Dasgupta gave Rishabh Pant some suggestions to overcome his current issues. The former cricketer felt the youngster could return to his natural game once he settles down in the middle.
Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta believes Rishabh Pant is a dynamic player who can win matches on his own, but currently he has to be careful about his selection of shots.
The Indian beater boarded the flight to the UK after a series of promising performances. However, he has not yet reproduced those on English soil. Pant has scored just 87 points in five innings, averaging 17.40. Unlike his first tour in 2018, he’s struggling to get points against England this time around.
Speaking to The Times of India, Dasgupta gave Pant some suggestions to overcome his current problems. The former cricketer felt the youngster could return to his natural game once he settles down in the middle.

“It’s important that Pant’s thought process is not blurred. If Pant goes into a round, he will probably win the test match for you… So you can take that little risk with him. But in saying that, Rishabh can still try to pay a little attention to his shot selection, ”said Dasgupta.
“People like Anderson and Robinson know how to use these conditions brilliantly and get lefties in this channel outside of the off-stump bowling above the wicket. But if Pant can deal with it initially, he can still do his own jazz — down the track or whatever, ”he added.
England bounced back at Headingley and beat India by one set and 76 points, tying the series 1-1. Both teams are preparing for the fourth test which begins Thursday at The Oval, London.
