Country music radio show host faces multiple sexual assault charges

A former Texas radio DJ is currently facing multiple sexual assault charges, the first of which led to his dismissal in March. Justin Frazell was a longtime DJ for KFWR 95.9 The Ranch in North Texas and was fired after being accused of sexually assaulting a friend of his teenage daughter at a New Years party at his home on the 31st. December 2020.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit issued in March and obtained by NBC 5Frazell allegedly had unwanted and non-consensual sexual contact with the girl, who was spending the night at Frazell’s house after her parents left the party around 2 a.m. The victim told Mansfield Police that Frazell’s daughter had a headache and was sleeping with his parents. bed, then the victim went to her friend’s bedroom and FaceTimed another friend.

During that call, the victim said that Frazell walked into the room, brought her a seltzer alcoholic drink, kissed her on the forehead and said, “It’s between us. never do anything for yourself. ” The friend on FaceTime corroborated the account and said Frazell told her during the video call that she “was a good girl and he had to make sure he didn’t hurt her” before leaving the room. .

The victim lay down and said she was “sleeping when the blankets were suddenly taken off her” and “her pants and underwear were taken off and her legs were pulled towards the bed.” The teenager said she was too scared to open her eyes or speak and felt someone touch her genitals with her hands and mouth before getting away from the bed. She told investigators she could hear the person moving around the room before he came back naked, hovered over her and started moving. After hearing a noise in the hallway, the man stood up, put on his pants and opened the door, where he told a boy in the hallway that he was watching the victim, who could see that the he man was Frazell when he stood in the doorway.

After talking to the boy, the victim says that Frazell walked up to her and pulled his pants up halfway up, before coming back later to pull up his pants. At around 5 a.m., the victim called her family to come and pick her up, and while waiting for her grandmother to arrive, she started to cry and Frazell walked into the room and asked her if she was okay. His wife also entered the room and the victim said she jumped into the woman’s arms and told her someone touched her inappropriately, but did not say who.

After she left, the victim told her grandmother and parents about what had happened and underwent a sexual assault exam at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. On March 18, investigators received laboratory reports from the MOE office confirming the presence of male DNA samples taken from the victim’s vaginal area. Frazell was arrested for second degree sexual assault and released on bail.

In April, a recently released affidavit detailed an alleged sexual assault by Frazell on December 22, more than a week before the New Years holiday. CBS DFW reports that the victim told a sheriff’s deputy that she was at the Lucky Spur Ranch Retreat in Denton for an event and was spending the night on a date. The woman says she was lying on the blankets in her bedroom with her date asleep next to her when Frazell, who was apparently only wearing a t-shirt and underwear, entered the room and grabbed her arm before sexually assaulting her.

The woman says she told Frazell to stop and that she was “very scared” after he left, although he returned half an hour later wearing only his underwear, but left when the woman started to wake up her date, who confirmed her story to the deputy and added the woman was “very upset by the assault”.
