Country artist Brad Butcher joins Ambition Records

Queensland country singer-songwriter Brad Butcher has signed with Ambition Records.

It follows his first eight years as an independent in which he released four albums which won him two Golden Guitars and a Queensland Music Awards trophy.

He has recorded and toured across North America, and received 20 songwriting award nominations in recent years.

“Brad is an exceptionally talented singer-songwriter who has built a solid country following but has a bright future ahead of him to further integrate into singer-songwriter territory,” said the conductor. from the Ambition label, Robert Rigby.

Ambition is releasing two Butcher albums in 2022.

The first is Storyteller: The story so far, which will be released in January 2022, and features the current radio single “Cutting People’s Grass” and duets with Felicity Urquhart and Brielle Brown.

Based in Brisbane, Butcher started out at Mackay and admits he’s fallen behind in his music career.

He played 20 years in the rugby league and worked in the mines.

But the guitar was a constant in his life. Butcher said Busby Marou’s Tom Busby was instrumental in starting his music career, providing advice and contacts.

“The past 10 years have been a myriad of musical trial and error,” Butcher said of Storyteller.

“In many cases one step forward and two steps back, but ultimately I became the artist I am today thanks to this trip.

“Musically, the path has never really changed. I write my own way, record the sounds and style I’ve always loved, and I’ve stayed true to who I am.
