Copper and Blue Staff Playoff Predictor – Oilers vs Jets

The Oilers and Jets will (finally!) Start their streak against each other on Wednesday. Our resident experts have carefully determined, through crude statistical analysis and a high-quality tea leaf reading, the most likely outcome of this next best-of-seven series.

The results were overwhelmingly unilateral.

Shona: Oilers in 6. I think the Jets have enough offense to make things competitive, and if Hellebuyck can keep his cool against McDavid it could get very interesting. But I think the Oilers are too offensive (and recent results seem to back it up) for the Jets to get away with.

Preston: I have Edmonton winning this one in 5 games. Connor Hellebuyck will steal a game for the Jets, but it will be over after that!

Matt: Edmonton in 6. I think it’s one of the tightest heats in the first round. Edmonton is the favorite, and for good reason given their regular-season dominance over the Jets thanks to Connor McDavid’s phenomenal season.

Sunil: Edmonton in 7

Corey: Oilers in 4, but Game 3 is going to double overtime.

Jeff: Oilers in 5. I think the Jets win a game in Winnipeg, but the recent success has been too big for the Oilers. Even with Nik Ehlers likely making a comeback, the tide is too high for the Jets to come out from under.

So there you have it. It is unanimous. The Oilers are going to win this thing, that’s only by how quickly they do it. The Oilers need to win that in four games to be able to catch up with the other series that already started four days ago.

What do you think?
